Internally displaced people of Iraq

30 Aug 2016

There are currently around 3.4 million IDPs in Iraq and counting and the battles around Al Anbar, Mosul and Najaf  will only result in more population movements. Furthermore returnees to Jalawla and Sadiya are at risk: they find their communities entirely destroyed and access to healthcare is very limited. In addition to providing services to IDPs and host communities in the neighbouring provinces of Sulaymaniyah and Diyala, Médecins Sans Frontières in collaboration with the Department of Health provide healthcare services in areas where populations are gradually returning in Diyala.
