Using mobile clinics, MSF delivers primary healthcare to the population and transfers the more severe cases to the reference hospitals. Also, MSF teams have expanded water and sanitation activities and distributed NFI kits.

In December 2007, the return home of the majority of the displaced population led to MSF ending its activities around Batticaloa.
