Médecins Sans Frontières Australia has a reliable group of volunteers to help with the general running of the Sydney office during normal office hours, which are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.

These positions usually involve clerical tasks, although we try to utilise people's specific skills as far as possible.  Some examples of the clerical tasks involved are:

• Opening, sorting and counting up incoming mail - this task requires patience and attention to detail
• Make up Welcome Packs
• Sending out receipts to donors
• General data entry and other general admin work

RECEPTION VOLUNTEER

We also have another stream for our office volunteers who choose to work on our Front reception desk.  

The work will be fairly routine and includes helping with tasks such as: - greeting guests - signing guests in - accepting courier/delivery

This role is almost fully autonomous and will require you to work at reception on your own. The reception desk is not near other desks, so you would be on your own most of the time. From time to time (during busier times) there may be admin tasks while you sit at reception but generally there will not be much else than accepting guests and couriers. Given that there is not much to do while manning the reception desk - you could fill your time by reading a book or accessing the internet

Please also consider that we are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least 6 - 12 months Please give the description of this role serious consideration and think about is this the sort of volunteer role that would suit/interest you?
