Chad: Médecins Sans Frontières field worker released

A Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff member, who went missing following an armed robbery at the MSF compound in Adé in the east of Chad, has been safely released.

After a Médecins Sans Frontières compound in Adé in the East of Chad on the border to Sudan had been robbed by armed assailants on the night of 4 August, one international and one national staff member were reported missing.

Two MSF aid workers missing in Chad

MSF confirms that in the night of August 4 2009, one of the MSF compounds in Chad was robbed by armed assailants. After the robbery one international and one national staff member were reported missing. Currently we have no knowledge about their whereabouts. MSF is in contact with the families of the staff members involved and with relevant local, national and international authorities. MSF is doing everything in its power to ensure a safe return of our colleagues. In view of the circumstances MSF is not in a position to provide further information.
