Malnutrition in Niger
In the face of increasingly severe malnutrition in Niger, Médecins Sans
Frontières (MSF) is assisting people in the most affected regions. MSF

Home visits from the teacher in
Darfur
What used to be the quiet town of Kebkabiya in North Darfur has been almost overwhelmed
by a flood of people from the countryside trying to escape the attacks on their
communities. What was a population of around 20,000 two years or less ago is now
five times higher with families crammed into every corner of the town. Médecins
Sans Frontières’ (MSF) clinics there depend on local community workers
going out into these corners to discover the medical and hygiene problems. Saleh

MSF attends the displaced in San
Josesito, Colombia
When the police installed themselves in a village in Colombia following
the dismembering of 8 members of the community more than 300 people relocated
to a construction site 2 km from their home. In only 10 days they built 27 shelters
out of wood and zinc roofing, which they named ‘San Josesito’. When
Médecins Sans Frontières arrived at the community to assist in an
emergency response, the lack of hygiene, the lack of water and the isolation had
already sparked off skin infections, respiratory disease and parasitizes...

Measles Epidemic in Chad
A measles epidemic has hit Chad, affecting the capital N’Djamena and three
provinces in the South and East of the country. Médecins Sans Frontières
(MSF) mobilised a team of 11 specialists to fight the epidemic and has started
emergency assistance to treat cases, assess impacts and carry out vaccination
campaigns...
