World TB Day: Senzo's story

21 Mar 2016

This photofilm tells the story of seven-year-old Senzo from Swaziland. In the film, Senza has been on the treatment course for multi drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) for several months. His treatment included 14 pills a day, as well as painful daily injections. Medicines specially formulated for children with drug-resistant TB are not available, making treatment extremely difficult for the young patients and their caretakers. In December 2015, TB Alliance and partners announced that roll-out of the first new medicines formulated for children is expected in early 2016.
